(San Jose, California-AP) -- The San Jose State men's basketball team snapped an eight-game losing streak Saturday night by beating the University of Hawaii 79-67.

Hawaii's Carl English went into the game leading the Western Athletic Conference in scoring with 20 points per game. But he was held to a season-low six points and fouled out with four minutes to play.

Hawaii's Phil Martin exploded for 14 points in the first 12 minutes of the second half and finished with a team-high 18 points.

The Warriors are now 11-3 overall and 4-2 in the WAC.

The Spartans improved to 4-10 and 1-4.
