(Honolulu-AP) -- The University of Hawaii beat UCLA 8-3 Sunday as the baseball Rainbows claimed their season-opening series two games to one.
Hawaii took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first inning when Rocky Russo's single to right field scored Isaac Omura and Brent Cook.
Andrew Sansaver doubled in a run in the second, and Brian Finegan drove in two runs with a single in the third to put the Rainbows up 5-1.
Ricky Bauer gave up six hits and one walk while allowing one earned run over six innings to get the win. Clary Carlsen pitched three innings of relief to pick up his first save of the season.
The Bruins fell to 3-4.
