(Honolulu-AP) -- Tim Montgomery and Schafer Magana each homered as Hawaii defeated Hawaii-Hilo 8-2 Tuesday night. Nicholas Ponomarenko picked up the win, pitching three scoreless innings for the Rainbows, which improved to 3-1.
Daniel Lockett got the loss for the struggling Vulcans, which dropped to 2-14. Montgomery and Magana each drove in two runs while freshman Matthew Inouye hit a triple. Hawaii-Hilo had a two-one lead on an RBI single by Alan Sarmiento in the fourth. Hawaii came back scoring three runs in the fifth and added two more in the sixth.
