(Portland, Oregon-AP) -- Oregon State is eyeing Hawaii coach June Jones to lead its football team. Jones has one year left on his contract at UH, but he says he hopes to reach an agreement for an extension.
But Jones isn't ruling out the possibility of a move back to his hometown and the school where he was a star quarterback. He tells The Oregonian, "never say never."
Jones has an annual package of 320,000 dollars at UH, including radio and TV deals and a housing allowance.
UH Athletic Director Herman Frazier says contract discussions with Junes are ongoing and look, "very, very positive."
