Warriors Defeat BYU In Front Of 11,000 Fans

(Provo, Utah-AP) -- The University of Hawaii men's volleyball team beat Brigham Young in four games Friday night, avenging a three-game loss to the Cougars. Costas Theocharidis had a match-high 24 kills and Delano Thomas added 12 as the Warriors won the rematch 23-30, 30-26, 30-27, 30-24.

Hawaii -- ranked second in this week's USA Today/American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 15 Poll -- improved to 10-4 overall and 6-4 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. Rafael Paal and Jonathan Alleman had 17 kills apiece to lead fourth-ranked BYU, which fell to 9-3 and 9-3. The Cougars won last night's match 30-24, 31-29, 30-27.
