(Fresno, California-AP) -- The University of Hawaii women's basketball team recorded its seventh consecutive loss on the road Saturday, falling to Fresno State 54-51.
The Rainbow Wahine trailed 54-43 with 3:01 left in the game before going on an 8-0 run that ended with April Atuaia's 3-pointer with nine seconds remaining.
Atuaia and Kim Willoughby led the Rainbow Wahine with 13 points apiece in Hawaii's first loss to the Bulldogs in 12 years. Senior Christen Roper was held scoreless for the first time since her sophomore season.
Laura Garcia scored 14 of her game-high 17 points in the first half as Fresno State moved out to a 28-20 at intermission.
The Rainbow Wahine will return to the islands for their final two home games of the season. They will host Tulsa on Thursday and Rice on Saturday.
