Top Honors for English

(Honolulu-AP) -- Hawaii guard Carl English is the Western Athletic Conference's men's player of the week. The junior averaged 24 points, five-point-five rebounds and two-point-five assists last week in a pair of wins last week over Nevada and Kent State

. English scored a game-high 26 points against Nevada, snapping a three-game losing streak. Against Kent State, he recorded 22 points in a nationally televised game on espn2. For the week, English shot 14-of-31 from the field and converted 15-of-18 from the free throw line. His three awards tops all WAC players this season. The 'Bows arrived in Tulsa, Okla., Monday, in preparation for a crucial WAC showdown against the Golden Hurricane. The game will be televised nationally on espn2 beginning at 9:00 p.m. CST at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
