UH Men's Swim Team Sets NIC Record

(Rochester, Michigan-AP) -- The University of Hawaii men's swimming squad turned in a record-setting performance today at the National Independent Conference Championships in Rochester, Michigan.

The Rainbows set an NIC record in winning the 800 free relay in a time six minutes 30.49 seconds. It was nearly two seconds faster than the previous mark set in February of last year by Southern Methodist.

Hawaii's previous school record in the event, six minutes, 32.39 seconds, was set in 1985.
