(El Paso, Texas-AP) -- The University of Hawaii women's basketball team came back from a 12-point halftime deficit to beat Texas-El Paso 68-57 in Saturday night's regular-season finale for both teams.
The Rainbow Wahine shot just 30 percent in the first half to trail the Miners 34-26 at intermission. In the second half, Hawaii shot 65 percent, while UTEP shot 26 percent.
The Rainbow Wahine also helped themselves at the foul line, making 17 of 20 free throws. The Miners were 8-9.
April Atuaia led Hawaii with 18 points. Christen Roper had 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Kim Willoughby added 14 points.
Dragana Zoric had 24 points for the Miners, and was the only UTEP player to score in double figures. She also had 12 rebounds.
The Rainbow Wahine ended the regular season 15-12 overall and 9-9 in the Western Athletic Conference. U-TEP finished at 10-18 and 5-13.
The WAC Tournament is set to begin Tuesday in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
