(Fresno, California-AP) -- Fresno State trailed 4-1 going into the bottom of the eighth inning before edging the University of Hawaii baseball Rainbows 5-4 Sunday on the mainland.
The Bulldogs claimed the Western Athletic Conference series two games to one.
Casey McGehee had an RBI in each of the last two innings to help the Bulldogs improve to 6-12 overall and 2-1 in the WAC. Chris Patrick also had two RBI's for Fresno State.
The Rainbows dropped to 12-5 and 1-2.
Hawaii took a 2-0 lead in the second inning on Jaziel Mendoza's sacrifice fly and Isaac Omura's RBI single. Brian Bock hit a solo homer for the Rainbows in the fourth.
Hawaii scored its fourth run in the seventh when Tim Montgomery came home as Brian Finegan struck out swinging but reached first on a wild pitch.
The Rainbows will host Hawaii Pacific University on Tuesday night.
