(Houston-AP) -- Rice defeated the University of Hawaii 8-1 Sunday in Houston for a sweep of their three-game Western Athletic Conference baseball series.

It was the 29 consecutive victory for Rice, the top-ranked team in two national polls.

The Owls have now beaten the Rainbows 12 games in a row.

Craig Stansberry drove in five runs for the Owls, who improved to 32-1 overall and 12-0 in the WAC.

Andrew Sansaver had an RBI groundout for Hawaii as it fell to 17-17 and 1-11.

The Rainbows now head to Shreveport, Louisiana, for a game against Centenary on Tuesday.

They open a three-game WAC series Thursday against Louisiana Tech in Ruston, Louisiana.
