Mahealani Mika Hirao-Solem named Miss Aloha Hula 2010

HILO, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - Mahealani Mika Hirao-Solem has been named Miss Aloha Hula for 2010 at the Merrie Monarch Festival in Hilo. Hirao-Solem scored 1082 points to capture this year's title. She represents Hula Halau o Kamuela under the direction of kumu Kaui Kamanao and Kunewa Mook.

In the kahiko portion Mahealani Mika Hirao-Solem danced to the mele "Kalele O Nalani He Inoa". In the auana portion, she danced to "Haaheo Kaimana Hilo Kuu Milimili".

Third place: Mahina Macfarlane

Fourth place: Oralani Koa

Fifth place: Ashlyn Aulani Tavares

The Hawaiian language award was presented to Oralani Koa.
