Bows Sweep Bulldogs

(Honolulu-AP) --Freshman Keahi Rawlins scattered four hits over seven shutout innings in a 2-0 victory in Manoa Sunday, giving Hawaii a three-game sweep over Fresno State.

It was the fifth straight win for the Rainbows and the first Western Athletic Conference sweep of the season for UH, which improved to 23-19.

After Rawlins, fellow freshman Rich Olsen pitched two scoreless innings to pickup his second save of the season.  Olsen allowed one hit and two walks while striking out a pair of batters.

Rocky Russo drove in the Rainbows' first run in the fourth inning on a single to center field, scoring Andrew Sansaver.

Hawaii padded its lead the next inning on a sacrifice by Brian Finegan that scored Tim Montgomery.  Finegan extended its hit streak to nine games by going 1-3.

Kent Sakamoto led the Bulldogs, which dropped to 21-20, with a pair of hits.

The victory was the third shutout win for Hawaii this season and the second in three games.
