This week's Cheap Eats is all about comfort food… ALL KINES of comfort food! The guys are heading over to the Windward side, a bit of a drive but well worth it.
Times Coffee Shop in the Ko'olau Shopping Center is known for its fried rice and massive meals. But it's much more than a breakfast place. The banana pancakes are huge and the fried rice plate comes with a fried egg and a side of mac salad and toast to boot. If you're visiting for lunch or dinner, check out the mix plate which comes with teri-chicken and mahi-mahi. Another winner is the hamburger steak, two hamburger patties, two scoops rice, mac salad and gravy and onions.
Russ asks, "What's the tops of the menu for you?"
Lloyd Sing from Waipahu replies, "Today, hamburger steak with a side order over-easy eggs and a side of the banana pancakes."
Russ, "What's your recommendation for me today?"
Lloyd, "I would say go with the hamburger steak and the over-easy eggs. Probably pass on the pancakes, that's kind of overdoing it, that's pretty heavy, filling…"
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, any time you're in the mood for big and tasty come on down to Times Coffee Shop! Lyle sums it up nice, "What time is it? It's time to come to Times Coffee Shop!" This week's, Cheap Eats.
