with Lyle Galdeira and Russell Yamanoha
AIEA (KFVE) - This place really sets um up and knocks um down, this week's Cheap Eats. The boys are at Aiea Bowl where fun is at the top of the menu, in the Alley Restaurant. Located on Aiea heights drive, between Moanalua Road and the freeway, this place is packed everyday at lunch time with customers who know the menu inside and out.
They have solid offerings like the massive hamburger steak with gravy, rice, macaroni salad and also unconventional ones like the coca-cola marinated turkey sandwich. One thing's for sure, they deliver.
"You can have ono food," says one patron.
"And what's your favorite?" asks Lyle.
"Today? Pulehu steak!" she replies.
"And that's a huge plate of steak."
"I know and I punished it!" she laughs
If you're not at Aiea Bowl for the bowling and you don't enough time to sit down in the restaurant, you can always stop by the Bar& Grill takeout window. They full menu is available including dishes like the tasty fried chicken coated with their special sauce, or another one of Alley Restaurant favorites, the deep-fried pork chop.
Russell decides on the furikake salmon salad and Lyle goes with the oxtail soup. Good stuff down at the Alley, this week's Cheap Eats!
