HONOLULU (KFVE) -- South of the border fare in East Oahu? Russ and Lyle are going Mexican to spice things up on this week's Cheap Eats. It's a Hawaii Kai mainstay, long known for its great Mexican menu, great prices and even better atmosphere.
When you come to ChaChaCha you better come hungry. With great offerings like their chile relleno casserole with rice and black beans or their giant ground beef tacos with special coleslaw, you're sure to leave more than satisfied.
Russ sits down with Jose, one of the patrons.
"Jose, tell me about this place."
"It's very nice," Jose says.
"What's your favorite?" Russ asks.
"The Carne Asada, I love it," he repiles.
Some other menu items of note are the pork chile verde with black beans and rice and the chicken papaya salsa quesadilla. Down at ChaChaCha you can dine right next to the Hawaii Kai Marina. And if you catch them at just the right time, they'll have live music.
Lyle decides on the shredded beef puffer that includes pinto beans and potatoes. Russ has the classic steak fajitas with the pico de gallo, sour cream and guacamole.
ChaChaCha Salsaria is located in the Hawaii Kai Shopping Center.
