Holiday Sagas

There are some great stories around this time of year. Like the one about that kid, Tiny Tim. What a winner! Sure, he had some challenges, but his glass was always full, and he did his best to overcome or ignore what spitballs life threw at him and he made others around him feel better, too- even old Mr. Scrooge- proving you can teach an old dog new tricks. And when he grew up, Tiny Tim parlayed his self-confidence into a big, chart-topping, retro hit with "Tip Toe Through the Tulips". What a guy!

And how about that little old reindeer Rudolph? Sure, the losers on their blogs teased him about his prominent, shiny red nose, anonymously suggesting that he might have a drinking problem. But with a great mentor like Santa giving him a chance that starry Christmas eve, Rudolph led the team, literally. What a champ; that episode undoubtedly helped him years later when he shortened his name to "Rudy" and became an inspiration on the Notre Dame football team- great movie!

And finally, how about the "12 Days of Christmas" and those crazy lords a leapin'! Normally, you hear about lords sitting around, conjuring up draconian laws that make life miserable for the commoners and having other people do all of their work. But not these guys- active, healthy lifestyles, as they didn't just get around, they were leaping! And there were ten of 'em! This year, go out and share your favorite seasonal stories, or maybe with all of the hugging, thanking, sharing, and giving, you can make your own special local holiday story to reminisce about and share in the decades ahead. Merry Christmas, Hawaii, and may you always think about it...
