KANEOHE (KFVE) -- For this week's Cheap Eats, Russell Yamanoha and Lyle Galdeira head to the windward side. The guys are out in Kaneohe at a place that's been around for a while but now they're on the move and they're going big time. If you're into fresh fish you gotta come to Fresh Catch, it's this week's Cheap Eats.
It's a bigger location still in the heart of Kaneohe where people line up for their favorites and the menu keeps expanding. Long time patrons know, Fresh catch is all about the poke. They have about 30 different varieties of poke and taco behind the glass.
"Alright we're here at Fresh Catch in Kaneohe with Thomas. Thomas, you got it all going on here today. What do you got in front of you?" asks Lyle.
"The Wednesday special, the stuffed ahi casserole, some island tako, and number one salmon poke and a side order laulau," Thomas replies.
"I saw that side order over there, that's a big laulau. You gonna be able to eat all this?
"Oh yeah, then I'll take a nap in the back afterwards. (laughs)"
You can find daily lunch specials at Fresh Catch like the crab stuffed ahi. Russ decides to have the ahi katsu with the secret sauce. And Lyle has the Smokin Hawaiian Sandwich with smoked meat, green peppers, onions and swiss cheese. How can you go wrong at Fresh Catch? They're in the middle of Kaneohe town with ample parking and great food, this week's Cheap Eats.
