HONOLULU, Oahu (HawaiiNewsNow) - Their mission is to establish and maintain programs that take care of the aina. This year "Pakalove ewalu: plant native!" is their campaign. The non-profit, Basic Image, gets kids in the community involved in volunteerism by getting people together to restore and preserve public parks. Basic Image has adopted many parks - Hakalau, Wai'uli and Pohoiki to name a few. Honoli'i on the outskirts of Hilo is also a "living classroom". Malika has more from Honoli'i.
