Merrie Monarch crowns new Miss Aloha Hula

HILO (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Merrie Monarch Festival crowned a new Miss Aloha Hula Thursday night.

Rebecca Lilinoekapahauomaunakea Sterling, from Halau Mohala ‘Ilima, was awarded the coveted honor of Miss Aloha Hula 2012 by placing first with a total of 1,074 points.

Other winners of the night included Keahiahi Sharon Long (2nd place; 1063 points), Brandi Pu'uwainani Hart (3rd place; 1056 points), Sarah Kamaleialohaikapolionamakau Noyle (4th place; 1054 points) and Tiana-Lynn Nalani Manuel (5th place; 1045 points).
