KIHEI, MAUI (HawaiiNewsNow) -

The Maui Fire Department says that a strong gust of wind blew a large roof from a container and then  landed on a neighboring home.

It happened at 12:36 p.m. at the Akina Aloha Tours bus baseyard in Kihei.

Crews arrived on scene to find the corrugated metal roof on a 30' x 40' container completely blown off.

The roof took out some power lines and came to rest against the home. Fire crews removed the roofing to prevent damage to the structure.

Akina's baseyard suffered approximately $25,000 total damages. The neighbors home suffered no structural damage, only cosmetic damages of $3,000.

No injuries were reported.
