UH Baseball To Host Fall Exhibition Games Vs. Team From China

Posted: Updated:

HONOLULU – (Hawaii Athletics) The University of Hawai'i Rainbow baseball team will host a pair of games this Fall against the Shanghai Sports Institute of China. The Rainbows will play Shanghai on Oct. 16 and 17 at 6:00 p.m. at Les Murakami Stadium. Admission is free for both games.

The games mark the first time during Mike Trapasso's 11 seasons as head coach that the 'Bows will play a fall game against an outside opponent. "Typically, our fall practice session consists of intra-squad scrimmages," said Coach Trapasso, "so it will be a welcome change to play outside competition. It will also be a nice opportunity for our fans to catch an early glimpse of some of our new players."

The Rainbows concluded the 2012 season at 30-25, their fourth straight season with 30 or more wins. UH will begin the 2013 campaign this February, with the announcement of the complete schedule coming next week.
