Hālau Kealiʻi O Nālani (Wahine)

Flanking the entrance to ʻIao Valley in Wailuku, two mighty peaks stand tall – Maunaleo and Puʻukāne. The ruling chief of Maui, Kahekili, used Wailuku as a center of government and worship, and he took up residence near two heiau located there, Halekiʻi and Pihana. The two heiau held vigil over Wailuku, ever watchful for invasion that might come from Hawaiʻi Nui.
