Think About It: Lava, Lying, and Gas

So many things to talk about, and just so little time… a state Senate bill is being bandied about that would permit journalists closer vantage points than others to flowing lava in Pahoa. That's part of their jobs- reporting, even with acknowledged risks. My guess is that some of those who may be voting in favor of this access to molten lava would like to see certain journalists get even closer to the magma, I mean like reeeeaaal close… if you know what I mean.

The UH men's basketball team's year of surprises continues as the team delights with its plucky play, led by a solid defense and a no-quit attitude. Meanwhile, the former UH men's basketball coach is apparently prepared to work on his defense and no-quit attitude as he fights allegations of NCAA improprieties, including lying. According to the thick report filled with alleged violations, the coach didn't realize lying was an "uh-oh" or a "no-no", and that there's more to basketball than working on your X's and O's. Or, it's all one big misunderstanding. An answer will cost UH well over $100,000 more in legal fees and perhaps $1.4-million in owed salary, stunning figures which have become rather commonplace of late when former administrators feel wronged by the school or the system.

And finally, a jet fuel tank owner on Sand Island apparently waited for over a month before reporting a leak in one of its tanks, and the fuel leak went unabated during that time, leaking as much as 42,000 gallons of fuel into the ground adjacent to the site. I guess you could say they were simply passing gas. Think about it…
