Hiker critically injured in 75-foot fall from Pali Notches

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

More than a dozen firefighters were called to help rescue a 32-year-old man who fell from the Pali Notches trail on Friday morning.

At approximately 11:41 a.m., according to a spokesperson with the Honolulu Fire Department, a man was reported to have fallen as far as 75 feet down a portion of the trail. It took just more than ten minutes for first responders to arrived on scene, and firefighters were able to reach that man by about 11:50 a.m.

The rescue operation lasted until 1 p.m., when he was transferred into the custody of paramedics in critical condition with injuries to his legs and back.
