WAIMANALO, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A Waimanalo landmark is still reeling from the heavy rain this weekend.

The polo fields off Kalanianaole Highway were completely under water.

Stable operators with The Theraputic Horsemanship of Hawaii rushed to free their animals and get them to dry land.

Trapped in the water were a collection of animals including miniature horses. The group uses the horses to serve those with disabilities at nearby hospitals.

Water from the downpour overran the irrigation ditch and flooded many of their corrals.

"We had to get our little animals, our mini horses and our goats and the pig up to dryer land. It came in so fast that we couldn't evacuate them so we just had to get them to the highest point we could," Program Director Katie Jessup said.

But the corrals weren't the only things flooded.

Several vehicles used to transport the animals to the hospitals were also damaged.

The good news: no animals were reported lost in the floods.
