AIEA, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Water has been restored to dozens of homes in the Aiea and Halawa areas after a water main ruptured on Wednesday evening, the Board of Water Supply said.

BWS completed its repairs around 6:30 a.m. Thursday to the water main on Hoapono Place in Aiea Heights.

The water main started leaking around 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, initially affecting 167 homes and 16 fire hydrants.

Though water has been restored, work to repair the road is expected to last throughout the morning.
