PEARL CITY, OAHU (HawaiiNewsNow) -

A 48-year-old man was critically injured after his motorcycle slammed into a truck in Pearl City on Sunday afternoon, Honolulu police said.

The crash happened around 3:40 p.m.

Police said a truck traveling on Hoolaulea Street was turning left onto Hualau Place. That’s when the motorcyclist crashed into the truck and was thrown onto the roadway.

He was not wearing a helmet, police said.

The 60-year-old man in the pickup truck was not injured.

Officials said it’s unclear whether speed or alcohol were factors.
