WAIKIKI (HawaiiNewsNow) -

Unite Here Local 5 workers from six Marriott-operated hotels are holding a strike vote on Monday night.

The nearly 3,500 workers are under a contract that expired in June at the Waikiki Beach Marriott, Sheraton Waikiki, The Royal Hawaiian, Westin Moana Surfrider, Sheraton Princess Kaiulani, and Sheraton Maui.

The union expects to have the results of the vote by 7:30 p.m. Monday.

If the workers approve the vote, it means they could go on strike at any time.
