HONOLULU — Hawai‘i PacificUniversity (HPU) is furthering its goal of giving back to the community throughits partnership with Honolulu Habitat for Humanity, its 2018-2019 serviceorganization partner. Each year HPU selects one local non-profit whose work andmission most closely align with the University's desire to help people andcommunities through the volunteer work of its staff, faculty, and students.
"We are honored to be selected asHPU's service organization. True to their commitment to best serve thecommunity around them, they focus not just on the needs of a community but itsassets and how they might best assist. We look forward to collaborating toaddress affordable housing needs on Oahu," said Jim Murphy, Executive Directorof Honolulu Habitat for Humanity.
On Saturday, September 8th,Honolulu Habitat broke ground on four new homes in Waimanalo furthering theirgoal to build 40 homes in 5 years. "We're going to be very busy. And we areexcited to have HPU right alongside us this year" Murphy added.
