Woman Loses Control Of Car In Parking Lot

There was a freak accident in a Kakaako parking garage Tuesday afternoon. A woman lost control of her vehicle and ran into half a dozen parked cars.

It's quiet now, but Tuesday afternoon, a terrified driver lost control of her vehicle and ended up driving through the pedestrian crosswalk - banging the front end of six parked cars till the car got stuck and stopped.

Choon Miike says she had just driven through the ticket window when the car took off by itself. Choon says she stepped on the brake and tried to put the car in park, but it wouldn't stop. She says she was terrified.

Her concerned husband Lance was on the phone with the repair company.

"The last time I took it into you, the car couldn't stop right?" said Lance Miike.

The Miikes say this happened before in May on the freeway, but the insurance company blamed driver error that time.

Meanwhile, another man came out of a meeting to find his car wrecked. His was one of two cars so badly damaged it had to be towed away.

Getting Choon's car out proved to be a difficult task.

"I have to move two block cement and move 3-4 car before I tow up this car," said Raymond Leung of Gao Towing.

The car went straight to the auto repair shop while its owners went to their insurance company. The victim's husband took her to the emergency room where she was treated for some minor bruises and released. Choon says she is more shaken up than anything.
