Paterno Sets Record In Win Over Ohio State

Joe Paterno is now the Division I all-time winningest coach, thanks to a huge second-half comeback in Penn State's 29 to 27 triumph over Ohio State.

Paterno entered the game tied with Bear Bryant at 323 wins, and watched his Nittany Lions fall behind 27 to 9 by the third quarter. But backup quarterback Zack Mills relieved Matt Seneca and threw for 280 yards and two touchdowns. Mills completed 17 of 32 passes and ran for another 138 yards and a TD.

The Nittany Lions finally went ahead when Mills found Eric McCoo for a 14-yard score on the second play of the fourth quarter. Penn State has won two straight since an 0-and-4 start. The Nittany Lions pulled off a comeback win over Northwestern last weekend, allowing Paterno to tie Bryant.
