Day 1: On the Road With Margaret Vakasausau
Thursday, November 15, 2001
2:07 p.m. (Hawaii time) We were supposed to have departed for San Jose already, but the plane was late arriving. . . so now they've pushed back our "alleged" departure time. The wonderful pleasures of traveling.
2:22 p.m. We have just been notified that one of the engines of our two engine plane is having technical difficulties. They have to fix it and said our departure time has been pushed back 2 hours. . . Bye, Bye WAC tournament! ;-) Nah, we'll get there. In the mean time, everybody is stretched out on the floor gathering as much rest as possible.
4:30 p.m. On the plane!!! Phew! That was a close one! Now as long as we get there. . . p.s. I got an aisle seat AND I'm not sitting next to anybody. . . . life is good!
11:35p.m. (California time) Arrival in San Francisco. We are waiting at baggage claim for our 10,000 bags and cameras and equipment. We met a guy that teaches Asian Studies at our school. He asks for autographs and he promotes his class that he wants us to take ;-).
11:50 p.m. We board the bus, headed to San Jose, finally. TIRED!!!
