Hawaii's Brent Cook was cookin' this weekend at the Les Murakami Stadium. For the baseball Bows, this weekend's series against UCLA was just what the doctor ordered. 3 wins, 2 in extra innings, showing Mike Trapasso might be on to something in Manoa.
On Saturday, the Bows came from behind 4 times to beat the Bruins in 11 innings. Sunday, the Bows won again on a 10th inning solo game winning shot by Brian Bock.
While Bock may've had the big swing, the big bat this weekend, without a doubt, belonged to Brent Cook. He was a no-brainer pick on Monday, as the WAC's player of the week.
Against the Bruins, Cook went 5 for 5. 4 for 5 and 3 for 4. Add that up, that's an insane 12 for 14 in the series. He was pretty good on D as well, as the Bows handed Coach Mike Trapasso, his first sweep as Rainbow boss.
Cook and the Bows get cookin' again on Thursday. Hawaii, hosting a 3 game series with old WAC rival BYU. Those games go Thursday thru Saturday. The next televised game for the baseball Bows, is the series finale. That's set to come your way Saturday at high noon. And you can catch that game live on K5 the home team.
