Baseball Drops Series Opener To UC Irvine

The Rainbow baseball team faced off against UC Irvine on Friday night in the first of a 3 game series.

The Bows were looking to get back to 500, taking on UC Irvine. A school that's fielding a baseball team, for the first time since 1992.

The Anteaters dropped baseball that year for financial reasons. Friday night, the Bows get on the board in the third. Lane Nogawa hit an inside-out liner to right to scores Brent Cook. That tied the game at 1.

Next half inning, the Anteaters bust this one wide open. Brett Smith hit one deep into the Manoa night. It's 2-1, UCI. Then in the 7th, RJ Brown just destroys one, a 2-run job off Sean Yamashita.

UC Irvine goes on to win this one, 8-1 the final. The Anteaters with 14 hits to drop the Bows to 6 and 8 on the season.
