Hawaii Finally Cracks Top 25

It seems like every Monday within the last month we've been talking about how the Bows didn't make it into the Associated Press Top 25. But this Monday, we won't have to do that.

For the first time this season, the Bows finally cracked the AP Top 25 poll. At where else, No. 25. It's also the first time in four years that the Bows made it into the poll. And with 27 wins and 5 losses, Hawaii still has a better record than 16 of the top ranked 24 teams.

That includes Georgia, a team Hawaii beat earlier this season. And the Bulldogs are listed two spots higher at 23. At No. 22, that would be Xavier, the Bows' first round opponent in the NCAA tournament.

So if this means anything, Hawaii has an even shot at beating the Musketeers and getting to the second round.

As for the top five. Duke jumps back to the number one spot after Kansas lost to Oklahoma on Sunday. The Jayhawks fall to second with the Sooners at the 3 spot.

And keep in mind if Hawaii beats Xavier on Friday, barring a huge upset by Illinois of Chicago, Oklahoma would likely be the Bows second round opponent.

Undated-AP -- The top 25 teams in The Associated Press' final men's college basketball poll, with first-place votes in parentheses, records through March 10, total points based on 25 points for a first-place vote through one point for a25th-place vote and previous ranking:
