One of the country's top prep football programs, has a new head coach.
About a year ago, legendary Saint Louis head coach Cal Lee announced that this past season was going to be his last at the Crusader helm. Ever since then, the big question was, who would step in and fill Lee's shoes.
The answer, Delbert Tengan. He was announced as the school's new head football coach on Tuesday. He is currently the Crusader head basketball coach, a position he will continue to hold in the Saint Louis athletic department.
About a month ago, Tengan turned down the football position after Saint Louis officials expressed concern about Tengan's wish to coach both football and basketball. But those concerns have been addressed and now Tengan will be the head coach for both programs.
Tengan has been a Saint Louis football assistant coach for the past 14 seasons. Now he'll lead the program, consistently ranked among the best in the country.
