Nevada Blanks Bows

(Honolulu-AP) -- Nevada blanked the University of Hawaii 5-0 as their Western Athletic Conference baseball series continued Friday night at Les Murakami Stadium.

Mateo Miramontes turned in a complete-game effort for the Wolf Pack. He gave up five hits and no walks, while striking out eight to even his record at 4-and-4.

Hawaii starter Sean Yamashita took the loss. He left the game after seven innings with the Rainbows trailing 2-0.

The Rainbows, who won Thursday night's opener 10-6, are 13-and-21 overall and 2-and-6 in the WAC going into this afternoon's finale. Nevada is 15-and-16 and 3-and-5.
