The No. 2 Hawaii men's volleyball team won their fifth straight match with a quick sweep of the No. 4 Cougars of BYU in three straight games, 30-26, 30-27, 30-22.
Junior outside hitter, Tony Ching, led the Warriors with 14 kills. Last week's AVCA player of the week, Costas Theocharidis, added 13. Senior All-American, Dejan Miladinovic, who will play his final home game on Saturday night, added a team high, 11 block assists.
The Warriors dominated from start to finish, giving the Cougars little chance to find an offensive rhythm. As the Cougars struggled to find their offense, Hawaii controlled and dominated at the net, outblocking BYU, 15.5 to 5.
Hawaii improves to 20-6, 15-4 and with a win Saturday night should lock up second place in the MPSF. BYU falls to 21-6, 15-6.
The two teams meet again Saturday night at 7 p.m.
