(Honolulu-AP) -- The University of Hawaii men's volleyball team ended regular-season play last night with a 30-27, 30-28, 30-27 loss to Brigham Young.
The Number Two Warriors swept the Number Four Cougars on Friday night to clinch the second seed in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation playoffs. Hawaii opens tournament play next Saturday at home against seventh-seeded Long Beach State. Fourth-seeded BYU will entertain fifth-seeded Stanford.
The loss left the Warriors with a regular season record of 20-and-7 and a league record of 15-and-5. B-Y-U improved to 22-and-6 and 16-and-6. Costas Theocharidis led U-H with 15 kills. Mike Wall had 20 kills for Brigham Young.
