The Honolulu Advertiser reports that Hawaii men's volleyball coach, Mike Wilton, is the top candidate for outgoing Carl McGown's head coaching job at BYU.
Wilton, who is a member of the Mormon Church and a good friend of Coach McGown's, was offered an assistant position with the Cougars, three years ago.
Wilton's UH contract is up in August, after 10 years as head coach.
McGown,65, announced he will retire following this season. He led the Cougars to the national title last season.
Right now, Wilton says he is only focusing on getting his team ready for this Saturday's MPSF playoff match against Long Beach State.
