Bows Can't Wait To Get Back At The Beach

The Warrior volleyball team is prepping to open the MPSF post-season tournament. Four MPSF quarterfinal match-ups are set for this weekend. For No. 2 Hawaii, they get the post-season party started with No. 12 Long Beach State.

At least a few of the Warrior players are looking ahead to the 49er match, with more than advancing in the playoffs on their minds. Last February, the Niners came out to Hawaii and split a two match series. And according to some of the Hawaii players, the Long Beach players were less then cordial following a 3-1 49er win in match one of the series.

"I think we were feeling too much pressure, especially when were playing here. We're going to play Long Beach again. We know where we're playing. Hopefully the arena is going to be packed here. I think we're going to have fun against them because of how they acted before, they were very disrespectful here. We really want to kick their butts. We're going to have fun," said Junior outside hitter, Costas Theocharidis.

They guys in green say they remember how the 49er players acted that night and come Saturday night, they would love to send Long Beach State back to the beach.

If you want to catch that match, Hawaii and Long Beach State, but can't make it down to the Rainbow dome on Saturday, K5's got you covered. UH officials granted permission to allow the match to be televised and so it will be. Saturday night at 7, live on K5 the home team. But remember, tickets are still available. And trust us, you can't beat the atmosphere inside the Rainbow dome.
