The Hawaii men's volleyball team remains the 2nd ranked team in the USA Today/AVCA Coaches poll. Pepperdine remains on top and BYU and UCSB are third and fourth, respectively.
Hawaii, fresh of its first round sweep on the 12th ranked 49ers of Long Beach State, will leave Tuesday for Malibu, California for the final rounds of the MPSF tournament. They face fourth ranked UCSB, who upset UCLA last week, in semifinal action on Thursday. The Gauchos, always tough, split a pair of matches with Hawaii earlier this season, at Santa Barbara.
The Warriors have neve won the MPSF tournament and they know if this is their year, they need a max effort against the Gauchos.
Host Pepperdine and BYU will meet in the other semifinal, with the winners of both of those matches meeting for the league championship at 7:00 p.m. on Sat., Apr. 27. As of now, the game will not be televised.
