Hawaii Moves On To MPSF Final

(Malibu, California-AP) -- Costas Theocharidis had 21 kills to lead second-ranked Hawaii over Number Seven UC-Santa Barbara today to advance to the finals of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men's volleyball tournament. The Warriors beat the Gauchos in four sets, 30-27, 29-31, 31-29, 30-26.

Jose Delgado and Eyal Zimet each added 11 kills for Hawaii, which faces top-ranked Pepperdine on Saturday. UC-Santa Barbara was led by Andy Rivera with 21 kills. The Warriors outblocked the Gauchos by a 23-13 margin. Dejan Miladinovic paced Hawaii with eight blocks.

Hawaii improved to 22-7 overall, while U-C Santa Barbara fell to 18-11. Earlier in the night, Pepperdine defeated third-ranked Brigham Young 30-26, 30-25, 22-30, 30-25.
