(Honolulu-AP) -- Fresno State beat the University of Hawaii 6-to-1 today to claim their Western Athletic Conference baseball series two games to one. Brian Pierce and Brad Harper drove in two runs apiece for the Bulldogs.
Pierce's RBI's came in the sixth inning when he hit a sacrifice fly that was caught in foul territory by left fielder Scooter Martines as he slammed into the bullpen fence. Hawaii's sole run came in the seventh on a single by Julian Russell.
Zach Minor went the distance for Fresno State. He gave up seven hits and two walks, while striking out four. The Rainbows fell to 15-and-28 overall and 4-and-14 in the WAC. Fresno State improved to 25-and-22 and 13-and-8.
