Hawaii Tops Louisiana Tech

(Honolulu-AP) -- University of Hawaii starter Chris George allowed only one earned run tonight as the Rainbows opened their last homestand of the season with an 8-to-4 baseball victory over Louisiana Tech. George gave up four hits and one walk while striking out ten over eight innings.

The Rainbows took a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on two-run singles by Tim Montgomery and Derek Honma. Ryan Jackson had a solo homer for the Bulldogs in the third, while Scooter Martinez hit a solo homer for Hawaii in the seventh. Brian Bock and Lane Nogawa singled to drive in a run apiece for the Rainbows. The three-game series continues tomorrow night and ends Saturday night.
