(Honolulu-AP) -- University of Hawaii shortstop Kate Judd was named the Western Athletic Conference player of the year for the second straight season Tuesday. The junior became the second player in WAC history to earn two player of the year awards and the first to do it in consecutive seasons. She led the conference in hitting and runs scored.
Four other Rainbow Wahine players made the all-conference team, including first baseman Stacey Porter, second baseman Natalie Gonzales and outfielder Denise Dahlberg. Jamie Southern of conference champion Fresno State was named the pitcher and freshman of the year. Tulsa's James Pinkerton was named WAC coach of the year.
