(Honolulu-AP) -- Twenty-eight schools from around the country converge on Keehi Lagoon beginning today for the 2002 Intercollegiate Sailing Championships. The nine-day event starts today with the women's championship that runs through Friday.
The three-day team race championship follows beginning June second and the three-day coed dinghy championship that starts June fifth concludes the competition. Each regatta is a marathon event, with as many as 18 races a day.
Host school Hawaii qualified for all three championships for the second consecutive year.
