Wahine Sailing Finish Second In National Championship

At Ke'ehi Lagoon the Rainbow Wahine sailing team's quest for a second straight national championship fell short Friday. The Rainbow women were unable to catch the Monarchs of Old Dominion the final round of the women's national championships.

The Wahine began the day in third and made a big time rally on ODU but in the end they just fell short. So after winning the nationa championship last year the Wahine settle for second this year. Old Dominion claims the national women's sailing championship with Saint Mary's of Maryland finishing third.

The sailors will stay at Ke'ehi Lagoon now for the team championships that wrap up on Tuesday. And then for the co-ed championships that will run thru next Friday.
