All right warrior fans we're just 20 days and counting from the start of the 2002 campaign. And while optimisim is high on the Manoa campus, we present the three burning questions facing the team this season.
Number one: Can sophomore quarterback Timmy Chang survive an entire season? The St. Louis prodigy spent much of last year on the bench nursing a wrist injury but Chang says he's ready to go.
Question two: How will Hawaii's new starting receivers fare? Gone are Craig Stutzmann, Channon Harris and Ashley Lelie. In their place, a mixture of fresh and familiar faces eager to strut their stuff.
Question three: Will the new starters at safety be the chink in the Warriors armor? Something to ponder over the water cooler these next few weeks.
The Associated Press released its pre-season college football poll and unfortunately for the Warriors they didn't receive a single vote. Rounding out the top five is Miami on top with 27 first place votes followed by Oklahoma, Florida State, Texas and Tennessee. Hawaii's WAC foes Boise State and Fresno State both received votes for the top 25.
